Janakikad Ecotourism is yet another ecotourism project developed near in the Kuttiady range ofKozhikode forest division which comes under Vadakara taluk of Kozhikode district.  Janakikad is situated in the Marothongara panchayat, 7 km from Kuttiadi in the  Nadapuram Assembly constituency. Janakikad eco park get its name from renowned statesman V. K. Krishna Menon’s sister Janaki.
Forest department has been implemented Janakikkad Eco Tourism project in 131 hectares of picturesque land , in association with the Janakikadu Vana Samrakhshana Samithy  or Janakikad Forest Protection Committee.  Chavaramuzhi, a  tributary of  river Kuttiady is flowing through the southern side of the project area.
Janakikkad is having good bio diversity of plants, birds and animals including endemic birds, rare butterflies and herbal plants. Geographical features suit trekking for any age group. Nature lovers can indulge in bird watching and butterfly tracking. Tourists would have facilities for bamboo rafting, Coracle riding and bathing in the Chavaramuzhi river. You can avail assistance of trained guides.
This ecotourism destination is ideal for one day trip as there are no hotels or resort or home stay available. You should be prepared to bring snacks, food and water. Visitors are required to have entry pass from Forest department.

  • Road route – Calicut- Perambra-Kadiyangad-Paleri-Kuttiyadi-Janakikkad
  • Janakikkad is 10kms away from Kuttiyadi and 60 kms from Calicut.
